We’ve just consulted the official D & J soothsayer, Merlin, and he predicts foot-tapping, hand-clapping and ass-slapping. Merlin knows best. Here is the Friday Playlist.
If you wept boom-boom hilarity tears at the Das Racist clip posted in the last Playlist, but were left hollow as a cow bell when it finished, your prayers have been answered. Here’s the director’s cut of “Michael Jackson”. The hairy shirt rip is still The Best.
Album ‘Relax’ is out now.
This week’s list is so amazing that it couldn’t fit on Friday or Saturday and spilled over into Sunday. Or we forgot to do it. Either way there’s still time to get up, get down and just uurgh! to set the next week right.
It’s Friday, and you know what that means – one day closer to the imminent robot apocalypse. But before we have our organs inexplicably harvested by machines that have no real use for them, it’s time to make time for party time. Here are some red hot jamz to see you through your joyous Friday / blissful Saturday / ace Sunday / crushingly depressing Sunday night. Shamon!
Das Racist – an ace hip hop group that manages to both take rap very seriously and also not very seriously at all – has crafted what the kids call a “club banger” with ‘You Oughta Know’, a track that samples Billy Joel’s ‘Movin’ Out.’ Taken from their free mixtape ‘Shut Up, Dude’, available at dasracist.net (along with the even better mixtape ‘Sit Down, Man’).
Debut album ‘Relax’ out September 13.
